Terms of Service

1. What Lodestar does

Lodestar gives a small business a machine-facing presence so AI agents can discover it, answer questions about it from facts you provide, and send it inquiries. This includes public discovery files (such as llms.txt and schema.org metadata), a per-business MCP server, and a dashboard to manage it all. It is a Business-to-Agent presence tool, not a search-engine optimization (SEO) service. One business is supported per account.

2. Your account

You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account. You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction and may only use Lodestar for a business you own or are authorized to represent.

3. Your content is public by design

When you publish your profile, the business information you enter — name, services, pricing, hours, location, policies, and FAQs — is made deliberately public and machine-readableso that AI agents can read it. You are responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of what you publish, and for having the right to share it. Don't publish anyone else's confidential information. You can move your profile back to draft or unpublish at any time from the dashboard.

4. AI-generated content and grounded answers

Lodestar uses AI (currently Google Gemini) to help draft profile content and to answer agent questions through the grounded asktool. Grounded answers are produced strictly from the facts in your profile and cite the field they came from; when something isn't on file, the agent is told so rather than inventing an answer. Even so, AI output can contain errors — review AI-drafted content before publishing it, and treat the answers your agents give as your own statements. You remain responsible for the content on your profile.

5. Inquiries

Agents can submit inquiries (leads) to you on a customer's behalf. We pass these through and apply lightweight automated triage to help you prioritize, but we do not verify or guarantee the identity, intent, or quality of any inquiry. Rate limits and abuse protections apply.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Publish false, misleading, unlawful, or infringing content.
• Impersonate a business or person, or misrepresent your authority to act for a business.
• Probe, overload, or interfere with the service, or attempt to bypass rate limits, authentication, or tenant isolation.
• Use the service to send spam or unlawful communications.

We may suspend or remove content or accounts that violate these Terms, including unpublishing a profile where required.

7. Plans, billing, and trials

Paid plans are billed on a subscription basis and include a 14-day free trial. An active subscription is what keeps your agent surfaces live. Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy as our Merchant of Record. Cancellation, refunds, trials, and plan changes are described in our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which is part of these Terms.

8. Intellectual property

You keep all rights to the business content you provide and grant us the licence needed to host, format, publish, and serve it across the agent surfaces as you direct. The Lodestar software, design, and brand remain ours.

9. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the service available but provide it “as is” without uptime guarantees. We may change, add, or remove features over time. If we make a material change that reduces a core paid feature, we'll aim to give reasonable notice.

10. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular AI agent will discover, read, or act on your profile.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither party will be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

12. Termination

You may stop using Lodestar and cancel at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms. On termination, your agent surfaces stop being served; see the Privacy Policy for how data is handled afterward.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll update the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to let you know. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [Founder to confirm jurisdiction], without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
