Cookie Policy

The small amount of storage Lodestar uses, and why. No advertising cookies or cross-site ad trackers; optional PostHog analytics runs only if you say yes.

This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies (like browser local storage) that Lodestar uses. It complements our Privacy Policy.

1. Essential cookies

We use a small number of essential cookies and session storageto run the app — chiefly to keep you securely signed in to your dashboard and to protect your account (authentication and security). These are required for the product to work and can't be turned off without breaking sign-in. We also store your cookie choice itself, so we can remember it and not ask again on every page.

2. Cookieless and optional analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to measure aggregate page traffic. It runs without cookies, local storage, or cross-site tracking, and its page-view data is anonymous rather than tied to an individual or IP address.

Optional PostHog product analytics is off by default. We do not initialize it or set its analytics cookies or local storage until you choose Accept analyticsin the cookie banner. If you reject or haven't chosen, PostHog does not capture your activity. When accepted, it is loaded through our own domain (reverse-proxied) and kept privacy-first. PostHog is not initialized on public business subdomains; those tenant profiles do not show the product-analytics consent flow.

  • Product analytics only — no advertising profiles, ever.
  • No session recording / replay.
  • No broad page autocapture — only basic page-view and page-leave counts, plus the actions you take in the product.
  • We honor your browser's Do Not Track signal even after you opt in.

3. Your choices

You stay in control of PostHog and non-essential storage:

  • Choose Accept analytics or Reject non-essential in the cookie banner to control PostHog.
  • Change your mind anytime via Cookie preferences in the footer, which reopens the banner.
  • We honor your browser's Do Not Track signal— when it's on, our analytics (PostHog) doesn't capture your activity.
  • You can also block or clear cookies and site data through your browser settings (blocking essential cookies will prevent you from staying signed in).

4. What we don't use

We don't use advertising cookies, cross-site ad trackers, or sell your browsing behavior to third parties.
